Earlier this week, McKinsey & Company’s Institute for Economic Mobility published an article and accompanying video entitled “Accelerating economic mobility and quality of life in urban communities.” The article and video explored how urban entrepreneurship can be a force for resilience and upward mobility for urban community residents. The article features an extended interview with UEI president W. David Tarver.
This article gives a clear summary of the rationale for Urban Entrepreneurship Initiative and its newly released Urban Innovator Platform. McKinsey did work for UEI that supported the development of the Urban Innovator Platform, including a rigorous review of content and deployment strategies. UEI aims to produce best-in-class work in this arena, and the work that McKinsey contributed has helped us to create the best possible tool for UEI consitituents.
